How you can join in:

  • Maintenance Mondays

Maintenance Mondays get people together at 10am-11am each week, helping to maintain crops, prepare beds for workshops, harvest excess produce, have a cuppa and co-ordinate food swaps. We are also wanting to host working bees on the weekend, however we require some volunteer community members to commit to help us co-ordinate this - if this is you, contact us

  • Food for Food Security

We trying to fight food insecurity in the city of Melton. We’re doing this by growing produce for The Community Grocer’s Kurunjang Market, and by having the garden open at all times. With signs and online videos indicating to the community what can be harvested and how to harvest it, people can have 24/7 access to locally grown fresh produce.

  • Community Workshops

We host monthly workshops and events in the garden for community members from right across Melbourne to attend and gain some practical knowledge about food growing, biodiversity and sustainability. Some workshops are offered for free, otherwise prices generally start at $20/pp

  • School Workshops & Tours

We host sustainability workshops for School, Kinder, ELC, Home School, or OSH groups of any age (4 year olds to 18 year olds). We often have funding available for school activities, but these limited spots fill up fast each year. Workshops start at $250. Contact us for more.

  • Corporate Volunteering

If your business is looking for a space to do your corporate volunteering, we have multiple opportunities each year both here in the garden, and on revegetation sites for corporate volunteering. Learn about the environment and sustainability, and bond with your colleagues while working and eating together. As this is a fundraiser for our organisation, prices start at $85/per head. Contact us for more information.

  • Use the Garden as a Venue

Community Groups, Disability Support Services, Scouts, Schools, Kinders, and more can book the garden to use as a venue for your own programming or social event. You must book and your booking does not include any input/workshops from us. We do request a small financial donation to the Garden from your group as thanks. Guidelines around what you can/can’t do in the space will vary depending on the time of year, so plan to be self sufficient.
