Yarrabing Environment Day

Yarrabing Secondary School engaged in an Environment Day with 130 Year 7 Students and their teachers. The students undertook a plant audit of 6,000 previously planted grasses in our Seed Bank, determining the loss rate from last year’s planting. They then removed 1,000 stakes and guards from the Themeda Triandra “Kangaroo Grass” bank, before infill planting a further 1,000 Kangaroo Grass. They were also the first group to use our new Water Cart which was purchased to improve planting success rates with the help of a Melton Council Community Grant.
